History : Ardennes’ purity in jams and marmalades
In 1954, the company « COMEL » (former name of ‘Confiture L’Ardennaise’) was born in the heart of the Belgian Ardennes, in a small village called Xhoris in the upper part of Aywaille. At the time, the main activity of the small family firm’s founder was the production of honey. After several honey crop failures, he decided to engage in the production of traditional jams.
In 1990, Confiture L’Ardennaise was purchased by the Verhamme family and the production of traditional and organic jams, marketed under the brand name ‘PurNatur’ has continued increasing. The team’s flexibility is the factory’s strength. The production line is capable of producing a few jars of jam up to a several containers.
Confiture l’Ardennaise enjoys an excellent reputation when it comes to the quality of its products on the European and international market. The policy of our Quality Control department is focused on the challenge of continuously improving the production process.
Since 2016, our cooking installation has been patented on a European level.
